About the Show
I started to be aware of music around the late sixties when the Skinhead subculture was at its height. My first ever purchase was Tighten Up Volume 2, quickly followed up by more Trojan LP’s. As these were now available as Trojan Records were formed in 1968 to bring reggae to another audience.
I have always had a love of Reggae and Ska even from that early age. It just seemed to fit nicely with the clothes we wore and how we danced.
I managed to get into a club once called the Lacarno in Bristol and was blown away by the music, and what also has stayed with me all these years, is when a tune started everybody got up mixed and danced.
I am now an avid collector of music especially 1960’s Jamaica, still wear retro clothes of the Skinhead/Suedehead era.
My Favourite Artists are Gregory Isaacs, Lloyd Brown, The Specials, The Selecter The WHO, Paul Weller just to name a few.
My Favourite Genres are tradtional SKA, New/Old Reggae Northern Soul & Motown.
If I could choose apart from family members 2 People To Share my Dinner Table with, I think I would like these two Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King
