From humble beginnings, Bexhill Radio has grown into something very different it's inception. The change has been extraordinary and unexpected, in a pleasant way.
With a New Year looming I have been taking stock of our presence in many ways. Locally, our impact in and around Bexhill. Nationally, our strengths & weaknesses in the UK. Globally, whether we could gain a larger footprint in a increasing market. Firstly, let me explain the phrase 'increasing market'
INCREASING NATIONAL MARKET
Weekly audience: In the third quarter of 2022, 49.7 million adults in the UK listened to radio stations each week. This broke the previous record of 49.5 million set in the first quarter of 2022.
Digital listening: 41 million adults in the UK listen to radio via digital platforms each week. This includes DAB, DTV, online, apps, and smart speakers.
Online radio: Online radio is the target audience for younger generations, especially those aged 25–34 and 35–44.
Average hours listened: On average, a listener tunes into 20.6 hours of live radio per week.
